The Halo 4 release date is just a few short weeks away and it looks like we’re about to get a deluge of information about the highly anticipated shooter from 343 Industries and Microsoft.
Today, we’ve got some really amazing screenshots taken from the game’s three modes — The main campaign where one of the most iconic gaming characters ever, Master Chief, squares off against a new Forerunner threat; War Games, which is a “mixture of competitive player modes;” and finally, from Spartan Ops, a story-driven additional content that will be released in episodes and is, according to rumors, longer than the entire campaign of Halo ODST.
The campaign screenshots are taken from two different missions — Mission 1: Dawn and Mission 3: Forerunner. Their titles give us a little more idea of what to expect from these segments of the campaign. Some of them also give us a glimpse of the Prometheans, a new race that will be mixing it up with Master Chief in the latest sequel to the highly influential Halo franchise.
Could Halo 4 possibly be the biggest game this year? I really wouldn’t be surprised considering how cool the images we received today are looking. Makes me a little more confident for the future of Master Chief’s first outing without the guidance of Bungie.
We’ve got a couple of the new Halo 4 screenshots below (check out that sexy shot of Cortana!) but for the full set, be sure to swing by Joystiq.
Halo 4 is expected to hit store shelves on November 6th. We’ll be keeping an eye on any new developments around the return of Master Chief as the launch date approaches.
