Hackers have been trying to jailbreak the iOS 5 beta since the preview version of the incoming operating system hit the internet. Up until now, the only jailbreak options have been tethered, which means that users have to plug your iOS device into a computer every time you reboot or run out of power.
iH8sn0w looks to change that with their new version of sn0wbreeze — which supports an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak. The only catch? The latest jailbreak currently only supports iPhone 3GS devices running older bootroms.
Chances are an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4 will not be released until iOS 5 officially launches this Fall.
