The world is changing. And this change is clearly visible when you compare the life of the modern student to that of their counterparts some years back. 1. Social media
Truth be told, social media is a staple among various student pastimes. However, there is more to social media than mindlessly scrolling on Instagram to see what your celebrity has been up to lately.
Having realized the capacity to monetize social media, many students use their free time creating content, therefore, earning a passive revenue of income to supplement their schooling budget.
For instance, many students advertise their skills on LinkedIn while others shoot skits for TikTok, broadening their audience and, eventually, morphing into influencers. The few that achieve this coveted title rake in tons of cash as companies look to enhance their brand.
2. Games
You all know what too much work without play did to jack. Would you want the same dull fate for yourself? Definitely not! With much time spent in class, students may feel lethargic of this sedentary lifestyle.
Many students explore games, activities and clubs, letting out the pressure of the day and ensuring a healthy lifestyle. Even more, students may engage in tournaments or play collaborative games in their rooms, socializing and giving their brains the much-deserved rest.
3. Watching movies
After food, clothing and shelter, many students would agree that Netflix ought to be the next basic need for campus. Having exhausted yourself to be punctual in class attendance, timely in the completion of assignments and to diligently study and research unclear concepts, you may occasionally need to immerse yourself in an alternate reality.
4. Honing new skills
The skills you learn today will prove handy for the future. Although we are pursuing a degree, many students dabble in other passions using their free time to advance their skills in their respective areas of interest.
Be it UX and web design, coding, learning a new language, playing an instrument or even app development, you can easily find learning resources and work your way up to becoming a guru in your domain. With your passion going, you will take pride in your progress, overcoming boredom while expanding the skills on which you could gain revenue in future.
5. Socializing
Nothing helps reduce academic tension like a good laughter with the gang. As social creatures, we often find ourselves needing to share our burdens and joys with others and also derive safety from knowing that we have a safety net in the form of friends for all our needs.
A stroll through campus will make this clear as students confide in each other, share advice and support each other in various pursuits.
