Plants are a great way to make your home feel more lively and lift your mood. They are perfect for condos because they can help produce oxygen in limited space and create a healthier atmosphere. Here are low-maintenance plants that will thrive in your Continuum condo.
Boston Fern
The “Nephrolepis Exaltata,” Boston fern, or sword fern has fronds that are very long, which can reach up to 6 inches wide and 4 feet in length. The fronds are separated into lots of narrow pinnae that grow alternately on each side of the midrib. The evergreen fern grows upright with a height and width of up to 3 feet (1 meter) producing feather-like fronds that elegantly arch, making for an attractive plant decor.
Rubber Plant
The rubber plant, with the scientific name “Hevea Brasiliensis” and botanical name Ficus elastica, is a quick-growing plant that can reach a height of 6 to 10 feet. They are known for their glossy, leathery, big leaves that will spruce up your condo. The leaves are shaped like an oval and are 8 to 12 inches long, with color variants of shady green, deep maroon, or marked with yellow, cream, pink, or white.
ZZ Plant
ZZ plants make nice desk or floor plants and can grow tall if left alone for weeks. Due to its resilience, the houseplant is called an eternity plant and is believed to live forever. The ZZ plant has wide, green leaves that can grow as long as 40 to 60 cm. They are in fact flowering plants, but they rarely produce flowers, yet the waxy and glossy leaves are enough to add a touch of sophistication and bring good luck to your condo.
Spider Plant
This clump-forming herbaceous plant, native to the coastal parts of South Africa, has narrow strap-shaped leaves rising from the middle point. It is unique because it can create spiders or offsets, creating a fountain of foliage that looks beautiful in hanging pots in the living room, bedroom, or bathroom.
Peace Lily
Peace lilies are sturdy, easy to care for, and known for their air-purifying abilities. They have glossy, dark, green oval leaves similar to the rubber plant. The leaves emerge directly from the soil and periodically make lightly fragrant flowers that are white, resembling Calla Lilies and symbolizing healing and purity.
