Polaris Office iPhone App Review

Price: $9.99     Score: 9/10     Category: Productivity

Polaris Office, developed by Infraware Co.,Ltd, presents itself as a mobile office solution for users who need to view and edit not only Microsoft® Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, but also view PDF and alter basic text files.

Featuring cloud storage and Dropbox support, this iPhone app may be the best option out there for managing your workload when you’re away from your main computer. (Although you might also want to check out a program like the Real VNC viewer for iOS to completely master access to your computer on the go.)

There’s a reason Polaris Office has such a hefty price tag (at least compared to a lot of other productivity/business apps out there.) In addition to supporting all these formats, the interface is surprisingly straightforward.

That’s saying something, considering the fact that, for example, over 300 Excel functions are provided so you can easily insert calculations into your docs on the go. Working on a doc for work that needs eye-popping flair? There’s support for 80 shapes and wing dings, so you can gussy up your reports and memos with stars, lines and whatnot.

Another bonus of this iPhone app is how easy files can be edited. Even somewhat troublesome document aspects like tables and images can be inserted with no headaches whatsoever. And just as nice, the print preview settings have great resolution, so you can see how your document will look before you sent it to the printer.

If you’re intrigued by Polaris Office and all it has to offer a busy professional, you’d better act quick. The iPhone app’s current price of $9.99 is only good through May 15th. After that, you’ll have to fork over the normal retail price of $19.99. If you’re in need of a mobile office solution, suck up the somewhat high price now and enjoys savings of 50% off.

Polaris Office is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later.
