Sony released the Xperia Z smartphone at CES 2013 a few weeks ago, with the smaller Xperia ZL, and just a week ago added the Xperia Tablet Z to their new line of devices. Now we are hearing rumours of a possible seven-inch tablet and a new mid-range smartphone.
The Sony C5303 could be this mid-range smartphone, which could be named the Xperia ZS or something of the sort when released. We believe that while Sony will maintain most of the features found the Xperia Z, the C5303 will lose some premium features.
The Xperia phone is under the codename HuaShan and will apparently make an appearance at Mobile World Congress in the coming weeks. If this is the crème of the crop for Sony, it seems a little downgraded from CES.
In the new Sony model, there will be Qualcomm’s 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and Adreno 320 graphics, we are sure that will come with 2GB of RAM.
Other new features, like the waterproof and dustproof design, may be left out. They weren’t on the Xperia ZL, and that was a little cheaper although the main point of that phone was to be a smaller version of the five-inch Xperia Z model.
CES was big for Sony, with their phone being voted by many who went there as the best device on display. They now have to have that same appeal with their other phones coming to MWC.
