Combing the velocity of Sonic the Hedgehog with the classic feeling of a Mario level, Major Magnet features a loyal sidekick (Gus the Guinea Pig!), a dastardly villain, and wonderfully challenging game mechanics. Everything in the game has to due with magnets, and you’ll need to jump from one magnet to the next to progress through each level.
Tap a magnet to activate it, then tap a magnet adjacent to it to jump. Tap an active magnet to turn it off, and fall back down to the ground. The mechanics are simple, but the game is anything but. It is very addictive, and does a great job of blending speed with strategy. You need to think when playing the game, but not over-think.
There’s also a great blend of story and gameplay. The story is cute, and fun, and really does make you want to keep playing Major Magnet. It’s a simple game, but still tons of fun with a great level of increasing difficulty as things progress. It’s the best 99 cents you’ll spend this week, no doubt about it.
With great character design, clever game mechanics, well-thought-out level design, and an awesome soundtrack (try it with headphones!), there’s a lot to like in Major Magnet. It’s a winner, no matter how you slice it.
