The modern connected world means near endless opportunities to connect people. This can be based on frivolous social interactions, but it can also be an invaluable tool for conducting business or streamlining important activities – something like Smart Doctor Schedule, for example, is a dead simple but potentially useful little app which could make connections between doctors and patients a lot less complicated.
Essentially Smart Doctor Schedule is one half of a two-piece app. Without its Smart Patient Schedule companion app, the Smart Doctor component is effectively redundant. Together, and assuming a high adoption rate among both medical professionals and their patients, this is a neat combination of apps which work well together. With Smart Doctor, professionals throughout the medical industry can create a full-featured profile which details their chosen field, skill set, contact details and more, all of which then becomes instantly searchable via the Smart Patient Schedule app.
Within the app, users can view their appointments and view detailed profiles of the patients, get notifications to ensure they don’t overlook appointments… and that’s pretty much all there is to it. What you’re really doing here is making yourself visible – the scheduling aspects are undeniably useful, but the key element here is the worldwide listing of medical professionals, available for anyone who downloads the free Smart Patient Schedule app.
In this regard, Smart Doctor Schedule works like a charm. Setting up a new user profile is straightforward, while the search system on the patient end allows for various parameters and filters, based on location or medical field. Potential patients can get hold of their selected medical professionals via email or call them directly through their app profiles, find out more about the doctor, their operating hours and so on.
The user interface is clean to the point of being boring, which probably suits the clinical theme here, although one might expect more in the way of options and customisation options. It is understandable that developer Patronus IT wanted to keep things simple, but this may have been taken a little bit too far here – on the Smart Doctor end, you may find yourself wondering what else to do once you’ve loaded your profile. The good news it that, for now at least, Smart Doctor Schedule and Smart Patient Schedule are available for free via the App Store. It’s rather sparsely populated right now, but should enough people (on both sides) get involved, this could turn out to be a very useful proposition.
