Steve Jobs made the words “one more thing” famous. Today, Apple sent out invitations to the usual media and blog suspects for a Tuesday, October 23 event emblazoned with the words “We’ve got a little more to show you.” The obvious take away is that Tim Cook, Phil Schiller et al will introduce the iPad mini, but that sentence seems ripe for exploitation as the new Apple tagline.
Engadget and a host of other sites are reporting Apple has sent media invites for an October 23 special event (1pm EST) to be held at San Jose’s California Theater.
Of course, the world is expecting the 7.85-inch iPad mini. However, many anticipate Apple will announce a 13-inch Retina MacBook, 2012 iMac and new Mac mini, as well.
There have been rumors Apple will release an updated new new iPad (a.k.a. iPad 3,6), featuring the 9-pin Lightning docking port and faster A6 processor.
October 23 could turn out to be a very, very interesting day in tech history, which will be followed two rotations later by Apple’s Q4 2012 results on Oct 25.
Tim Cook Rewrites the Apple Tagline
Wouldn’t it be a very pleasant surprise, indeed, if Tim Cook started to leave the stage at 80 minutes into the event only to turn to the crowd and say, “We’ve got a little more to tell you,” and launch into the Mac and/or new new iPad introductions? One year after Steve Jobs passing, Cook might be wise to further redefine and rebrand the company by introducing a new Apple tagline.
Can “a little more to show you” ever replace “one more thing”? It all depends on Tim Cook delivers the words…
