There are few physical attributes more desirable for both genders as a great set of abs. Perhaps it’s because they’re so hard to obtain that there are iPhone apps like Ab Workouts for Men and Women to help people to achieve them. Developed by SteadyHealth, Ab Workouts for Men and Women features all the information you need to develop your own washboard abdominals.

The app consists of several sections, broken down into ab exercises, training plans and meal plans. The latter two are only available in the Premium version, which you can get via in-app purchase. In the free version, you still get access to a wide range of content.

You can go to the Home page and tap on an area of the abdominals that you’d like to learn some exercises for, or you can tab across to the All Exercises area and browse through the different exercises available for each area of the body (only the ab exercises are viewable in the free version).

Ab Workouts for Men and Women features a comprehensive range of instructional videos via SteadyHealth.com, providing a 30-60 second narrated video on how to correctly perform a number of different exercises.

 

If you choose to upgrade the app to the Premium version you’ll gain access to a number of custom Training Plans to help you build abs the most efficient way possible. While the Training Plans focus on a particular combination and frequency of exercises, arguably the most important aspect of any program to “get abs” is your diet and Ab Workouts for Men and Women has you covered there too.

The meal plan section gives specific advice on what to eat and the types of meals that are ‘ab friendly’. There are recipes with ingredient lists and cooking instructions so you’ve got everything you need to get started.

A solid resource for anyone wanting to improve the appearance of their mid-section, Ab Workouts for Men and Women provides some great content for free and a comprehensive guide for one in-app purchase of $1.99.
