An Apple board member says we’ll see new the iPhone 5 iPhone next month, seemingly confirming what previous rumors have already indicated.
Former United States Vice President Al Gore, who joined the board in 2003, told Discovery Invest Leadership Summit attendees that new iPhone models would be arriving in October, according to a journalist who was present at the event.
Stuff Magazine editor Tony Shapshak tweeted a key portion of Gore’s address: “Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug.”
While not too revealing, Gore’s statement is really the closest anyone at Apple has come to making a firm statement about a release date.
While Gore did say “iPhones”, enthusiasts shouldn’t read into his phrasing too much, despite rumors of Apple adding to its smartphone line. Gore may have been referring to the multiple storage capacities Apple devices tend to offer.
