Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Android 5.0 Lollipop Unveiled By Google

Android 5.0 and 6.0 (Lollipop and Marshmallow) are rolling out on devices everywhere (the news comes from Samsung Galaxy). It’s going to have a lot of new features (and hopefully change a few details that people didn’t like about the oldest version).

You’ve probably heard a lot about Marshmallow (because it’s been out for quite some time) but many device users never actually got their hands on it. Many Samsung models are going to be getting Marshmallow soon; and T-Mobile also plans on rolling out Android 6.0 to update all OTA on S5 devices (especially over the next few weeks)

Android N is “Around the Corner”, But We’re Just Now Seeing Marshmallow

The problem with the release is that it’s hard to get the software to work the same on each and every device on different networks. Companies like T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint all operate differently; but will be rolling out updates as they come along. This means that you’ll eventually receive the update (because the process is gradual), but many are pleasantly pleased with the speed at which the update is arriving (through Settings > Check for Software Updates). Like always, you have to make sure that you have plenty of disk space available to make the most of this upgrade.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Not Available Yet on AT&T and Verizon Yet

With the roll-out of Android 6.0 on T-Mobile, you might expect it across the board. Unfortunately, AT&T and Verizon aren’t expected to receive the updates right away. That being said, there are a lot of excellent features for your device (like Doze mode) which allows your phone to sleep for prolonged periods to save as much battery as possible (by preventing apps from being used).

These updates are also expected to fix several performance bugs (like those found on TouchWiz). Marshmallow also gives you more control over your apps, letting you decide exactly what they can do. Plus, you can access assistance from any app, website or call (all you have to do is hold the home button).

A Good Time For An Upgrade?

As more and more users download the upgrade, we expect some mixed emotion. After you’ve downloaded the new update on your phone model, tell us about it in the comments! We’ll keep you posted as more updates arrive related to Android ”N.”
