Black Friday traditionally kicks off the start of the holiday shopping season, with the chance to bag some solid savings on a huge range of products. Apple’s Black Friday sales have already gone live in Australia and New Zealand, with one-day-only discounts available on MacBook Pro, iPad, iPod and a range of Apple accessories.
Apple’s Black Friday promotions are usually more modest than other retailers, with discounts in the range of 5-10%. But, if you’re in the market for a Macbook, iPad or iPod it’s a great time to buy. The Apple Black Friday sales were due to go live in the U.S. at midnight, but the Apple online store was still down as of 12:50 am EST. With the exchange rate to the Australian dollar nearly 1:1, the offers Down Under give a pretty good indication of the kind of deals American consumers will be seeing today.
Apple are offering $41 off the iPad with retina display and $31 off the iPad 2. You’ll save $31 on an iPod Touch, and $11 off the iPod nano. If you’re looking to buy a MacBook Pro, you’re looking at a flat $105 discount on all MacBook Pro with retina display, MacBook Pro and Macbook Air product lines. There are also $11 – 21 savings to be made on Apple Airport Express, Apple Airport Extreme, Time Capsule, Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and the Apple Wireless Keyboard. BestBuy and MacMall are also offering similar discounts, with some larger savings to be made on selected products.
The best Apple Black Friday deal can be found in the iTunes store, where you can pick up a $100 iTunes gift card for $80 – a 20% saving. Gift cards are redeemable for all items available on the Apple iTunes store, including apps, games, music, movies, TV shows and books, and best of all – there’s no expiry date on the credit.
