Apple has released iOS Version 5.1.1 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. While the latest version of iOS doesn’t exactly add any new features, it does offer several bug fixes.
The update primarily addresses two bugs. Prior to the update, the new iPad sometimes had troublemoving between 2G and 3G wireless networks. A second issue sometimes prevented users from streaming content via Apple’s AirPlay service.
According to Apple, iOS 5.1.1 also improves reliability and a false “unable to purchase” alert.
- Improves Safari bookmark and reading list synchronization reliability
- Improves the reliability of snapping HDR photos using the lock screen shortcut
- Fixes a bug that caused an “unable to purchase” alert to pop up after some successful purchases.
iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users can download the most recent update by launching the Settings application, navigating to the ‘General’ area and selecting the ‘Software Update’ option.
