Published by CodeglueBeer Pong is the closest thing you are going to get to a real game of beer pong on your phone.

Codeglue have gone all out developing Beer Pong for Android. The graphics, game playability, such a wide range of options and online leader-boards and achievements makes Beer Pong a great all round game and a pleasure to play.

So we all know what Beer Pong is, but for those of you that aren’t familiar with this college-party staple, it is typically a drinking game played by two or more players. Normally two sets of 3, 6 or 10 cups are filled partially with beer and placed at either end of a table, then players at both ends have to attempt to throw a ping pong ball into the cup of the opposing team.

If you land the ball in a cup of the opposing team they have to drink the contents of the cup and the cup is removed from the table, once you land the ball in all of a players cups and all of their cups have been removed you have won. Simple, right?

So lets run through the game types. There is a single player and multiplayer mode, single player has the standard easy, medium and hard but also has a pro type which takes away a few of the features which assists the player such as the ball guide when you pull back before you throw.

Then we have multiplayer which allows you to play locally with a friend or online to test your skills against the best players around the world which Beer Pong has to offer.

There are a variety of options which make the game more entertaining and cater to a wider audience. The big one which got me was the option to have a stationary or swaying camera. After a while you get the hang of the game and a static camera isn’t as challenging anymore but for all those mums and dads out there a static camera is perfect as they do not use technology as much. The option to have a swaying camera makes you account for distance, cup arrangement and now motion.

The other unique option is choosing a different table but unlike other games Beer Pong doesn’t just change the table, it re-themes the cups and ball as well. For instance when you select the basketball table the cups are also changed into a basketball ring and net cup.

I normally don’t look through settings similar to this but in this case I went through every table just to see what the ball was going to look like and what the cups were going to be made of.

Overall Beer Pong is a fully fledged game and no expense has been spared on its development. The 3D graphics, sound, computer voices and taunts, online scoreboards and just general playability makes Beer Pong an amazing game.

UPDATE:
We’d love to thank the guys at Codeglue for the awesome Tapscape table which has just been released. Be sure to check it out and let us know what you think.

It is great for a quick game on your commute to work or a serious game on the weekend with your friends. Sometimes OpenFeint and the full paged ads can be a little intrusive but this is a small price to pay considering the caliber of Beer Pong. Great work Codeglue!
