Over the past couple of decades, there has been a rise in popularity in that of horror films as many of us would choose a horror film as our first choice of film. Due to this, streaming services like Netflix have now got dedicated areas on their platforms for their library of horror films, and these are rather extensive now. One of the most popular horror films that we have seen on Netflix this winter has been 2020’s “His House” which has become one of the blockbusters of the past couple of years. This film follows a refugee couple who has escaped a war-torn Sudan to look for a safer and better quality of life, but they seem to struggle to adjust to new life in England as there is a form of evil lurking beneath “His House”.

If you are looking for more of a classical horror film, then Jaws, which was released back in 1975 which continues to be one of the most popular horror films of all time. When a young woman is killed by a shark, many of the town want to close the beaches to solve the mystery, but as the tale goes on, the entire town seems to find themselves in a battle of man vs. beast.

One of the most mainstream horror films of the 21st Century has been The Conjuring will go down as one of the best horror movies of all time. The Conjuring follows a pair of paranormal investigators who visit a secluded farmhouse where they seem to be a whole host of supernatural presence.  Due to this, things start to take a turn for the worst and escalate in horrifying fashion. The Conjuring was that popular that it has turned a Box Office Gross Profit of $137.4 million in North America since its release which is very impressive for a horror film.
