Boom Boom Hamster Golf is an iPhone game developed by HammerCat Studio. Released earlier this week, this brand new game is definitely a newcomer that’s worth taking notice of.
In Boom Boom Hamster Golf, your goal is to shoot a hamster from a cannon. As with golf, you want to get the hamster into holes, with as few attempts as possible. It’s totally addictive!
Boom Boom Hamster Golf boasts 9 holes, a target minigame, and two bonus playable levels (the title screen and the lost islands.) As you go, you can collect coins. These coins can be exchanged at the Pro Shop for different skins for your hamster, as well as hats and vapor trails to accent your game.
The soundtrack is what I can only describe as “fun and funky,” and it’s a great complement to the colorful and creative graphics in the game. Boom Boom Hamster Golf has a really simple control scheme that’s easy, yet requires a bit of finesse. In other words, it’s perfectly calibrated for a level of difficulty that keeps things fun.
A couple of minor quibbles: the placement of the banner ads is annoying. I wish that some of the menus could be clicked through faster. Also, some users have complained that the app runs a bit laggy. For me, on an iPhone 4S with other apps running in the background, it ran just fine.
Boom Boom Hamster Golf is the greatest thing to happen to hamsters in the digital age since the “hamster dance” website went live. Give it a spin!

However, we do include a secret mode that unlocks more graphic, animated violence. It is accessible only through the App Store to guard against accidental exposure to young children.”
