ClubWorld Review: An Enjoyable Timesink

Price: “Freemium”    Score: 7/10    Category: Games

Tapulous has a long history of providing music and gaming fans with ingenious titles including the Tap Tap Revenge series. With ClubWorld, Tapulous looks to tap into real-time social tycoon gaming. It’s interesting to note that the developer been skirting around the freemium model for a while and now they’ve jumped straight in.

But does ClubWorld make the cut?

When users first launch the app, they are presented with an option to play with or without Facebook. From there, the decision making begins.

First, users are required to choose which DJ they would like to start their club with.  They’re then prompted to pick a bar to start within the nightclub as this quickly becomes the club’s primary source of income along with DJ revenue.

The primary goal is to pack the place. With that said, there are a multitude of ways to do this — changing your floors, modifying your bar, and adjusting your entertainment add up to your coolness factor, which draws people in and contributes to your EXP points and overall assets.

Remember, though, that ClubWorld is a Freemium game.  While you can earn “sugar,” which allows you to pay for anything your heart desires, it takes a dreadful amount of time. If you don’t want to wait, Tapulous has included an in-app purchase selection to gather as much as you want and, in turn, pimp your club as you see fit.

In proper Tapulous fashion, the music selection is top notch and you’ll find yourself grooving to a variety of Tiësto, David Guetta and other fist-pumping music.

ClubWorld absolutely makes the cut for those interested in a generous music library mixed with a Farmville-esque clubbing game that puts all of the fun of managing Vegas right in the palm of your hands.
