Technology has helped us improve many walks of our life, from business, hobbies, to entertainment. Many aspiring football players have dreamed of an app that can help them develop and improve their skills, and finally, the day of having one has come.
Designed by Coach-AI – a company run by an Israeli technology entrepreneur, Mati Kochavi, and the CFC Academy – “Perfect Play” is a long-awaited app which helps its users become better football players, as it provides real-time feedback on their performance, created by professionals from the Chelsea-FC Academy.
The app was developed in labs in Israel and Germany; it is based on a combination of augmented reality (AR) and computer vision technologies. Its main goal is to help improve performance by providing professional training and coaching to all football players, no matter where they are, at any time they find convenient.
“Perfect Play” users have a range of challenges and exercises which they perform in front of their smartphone’s camera. The virtual coach studies their moves, analyzing them and providing real-time professional and accurate feedback.
The feedback they receive is indeed professional and accurate, as it was developed by, as already mentioned, senior coaches of the CFC Academy. Coach-AI’s AR technology has built an interface that is able to transform any space into a training ground.
David R, Director, Chelsea Digital Ventures, described how the collaboration with Coach-AI started a few years ago, after they had noticed the potential of their virtual technology, adding that Coach-AI met all their demands, including the accuracy of measuring users’ performance and providing feedback with the aim to improve their skills.
The app enables designing a personal training plan, focusing on areas such as mental and technical skills, football intelligence, and physical development. The challenges and exercises help users develop various skills, including ball master, agility, passing, focus, dribbling, shooting, receiving, strength, speed, resilience, and many others.
What many users will like for sure is that “Perfect Play” is free, though with a limited number of exercises and other content. For those who seek unlimited access, which aside from exercises and challenges provides masterclass content and personal training plan based on each user’s needs, Perfect Play offers “Perfect Play Premium” at $14.99 per month.
The Perfect Play app is available for iOS users in the US and the UK, and will soon be available for Android users.
