The release of the Motorola Droid RAZR M earlier this year was largely overshadowed by the big-hitting RAZR HD and RAZR HD MAXX “superphones”. However, the Droid RAZR M could just be the best $99 Android smartphone on the market, with a bounty of high-end features despite a low price-point.
The Droid RAZR M is LTE enabled and carries a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen (960 x 540)– much larger than the 3.5-inch iPhone 4S and still larger than the iPhone 5, which sports a 4-inch display (albeit, with much higher resolution). In comparison to the iPhone 5 and other ‘elite’ smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Droid RAZR M doesn’t manage as impressive a spec-sheet, but manages to drop in under $100.
Motorola’s aggressive pricing gives the RAZR M a lot of bang for buck, and opens up the RAZR M to a big number of consumers who are unwilling, or unable, to shell out $200+ for a mobile phone.
The Droid RAZR M itself sports exceptional build quality, tight chassis, and an extra thin bezel. Despite being roughly the same size as the iPhone, Motorola have managed to cram in a lot more screen, making impressive use of the available front-panel real estate.
On the inside, the Droid RAZR M features a dual-core 1.5GHz dual-core chip, 8GB of internal storage (with microSD expansion), 1GB of RAM, an 8MP camera with 1080p video and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
