With only twenty days until the official unveiling of the Galaxy Note 2 in Berlin, on August 29th, the Korean publisher IT Times claims that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will incorporate a ground breaking feature: the first semi-flexible AMOLED screen on the market.
Besides the rumored Exynos 441 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the operating system and the wide 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display that we are all waiting for, it seems that Samsung is truly going to take the plunge this year and entrust this smartphone with a flexible display.
Discussions about Samsung and the flexible technology date since last year, but only now has the company developed a product suitable for the new screen technology – the Galaxy Note 2.
Although the technology states that the display will actually be bendable, Samsung will still use a protecting glass which has been maintained rigid, but this should allow a nicely curved design.
The new flexible display will also help reduce the thickness of the screen by 0.4 mm, but Samsung is said to take advantage of this slight bonus by integrating a more LTE-friendly battery.
