Apparently, Galaxy S4 rumors started circulating yesterday saying that an early 2013 release date for the next version of Samsung’s highly successful Galaxy S series could be expected. Don’t get your hopes up though because we’ve already gotten word that Samsung has stepped in and announced that the Galaxy S4 rumors are false.
According to Android Authority, there were talks about the Galaxy S4 being unveiled at Mobile World Congress next year and that the phone will be on the shelves the month after, on March. According to the Galaxy s4 rumor mill, the device will have a 5-inch screen with a Super AMOLED 1080p HD display and will be the first Samsung phone with a full HD screen.
But alas, if you’re already over the Galaxy SIII and were excited to hear more about the latest version, all the information from yesterday is false. Here’s the (horrible) translation of the tweet made by Samsung yesterday:
Please note that some media reported speculation that the Galaxy S III subsequent models will be released in a simple rumor; is not true. Fixed I’m not doing anything, why spread these rumors?
The original source of the rumor was The Korea Times which, as Android Authority points out, probably has a lot of connections within Samsung and normally have a great track record in breaking new information about the Korean company’s plans.
While the Galaxy S4 rumors may be false, you may be happy to know that you don’t have to stick with your boring white or blue Galaxy SIII device. Garnet Red, Titanium Grey, Amber Brown, and Sapphire Black are some of the new colors that should be coming your way soon and should keep the Galaxy SIII fresh until we get some official word on the Galaxy S4.
