HTC Nexus specs leak shows smartphone slightly less spec’d than an HTC 10

The rumored HTC Nexus has been reported to feature a chipset that is going to be more powerful than a Snapdragon 820, which suggests that the hardware makeup of the upcoming device could be a Snapdragon 821. However, the latest specifications list coming from Android Police had a different story to tell because the hardware list of the next Nexus is a slight downgrade over a HTC 10.

For starters, the screen size of HTC Nexus is a 5-inch 1080p display whereas HTC 10 featured a 5.2-inch QHD display. We believe that while the next Nexus will measure up nicely against the previous Nexus 5X, it specifications would make it come short of the hardware present in HTC’s current generation flagship.

One thing that was completely appalling from a Nexus 5X was its complete disregard to storage. It’s the year 2016 and you don’t place 16GB of internal storage and sell it to consumers unless you provide a way to comfortably expand that storage or if it’s an iPhone. With the HTC Nexus, the handset is rumored to feature 32GB of on-board storage, and our gut also tells us that the smartphone will be available to purchase in more than one storage model, which is a great thing if it comes to pass.

4GB of RAM and a quad-core processor is a nice little addition to the hardware, and the user will have plenty of these resources free because of the stock Android OS running inside the HTC Nexus. There are no leaks linked to the pricing details, but when the smartphone gets announced during the 3rd quarter of this year, we’ll have more updates for you.
