Apple has released the newest version of its iOS 5 beta to developers, the sixth beta since the operating system update was revealed earlier this year. iOS 5 Beta 6 offers numerous bug fixes and is reportedly more stable than previous iterations. As it has been since iOS 5 Beta 4, the 144Mb beta is available over the air.
Apple generally releases 8 betas to registered developers before releasing the GM seed. Said seed is usually followed by a public release. With Apple launching iOS 5 betas more and more often, one can only hope that the final release is right around the corner.
Apple also released a new beta version of iTunes 10.5 alongside iOS Beta 6. Developers also received access to the fifth Apple TV software beta.
The final version of iOS 5 is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 5 this October. The fifth generation iPhone is expected to feature an 8 megapixel camera, dual-core A5 chip, added RAM, and a more compact design.
Registered developers can access the iOS 5 Beta 6 from the iOS Dev Center.
