iOS 7 hasn’t even been out that long, but it looks like an iOS 7 Jailbreak already exists. Whilst iOS 7 is not even in the public realm yet, a recent screenshot confirms that it exists on the current Beta 2 firmware.
Based on screenshots shared via twitter, Ryan Petrich has shown off Activator warning of the system being too new. Activator requires a Jailbreak to run and is installed through Cydia, suggesting the iOS 7 Jailbreak is real.
iOS 7 Jailbreak
Whilst Petrich hasn’t released any official information, the screenshot itself is enough to get the Jailbreak community excited that at least an iOS 7 Jailbreak is possible.
However, with iOS 7 still very much in Beta, whatever exploit Petrich has got that enabled the Jailbreak to be achieved will be saved until iOS 7 is released into Gold Master to avoid Apple simply patching the update.
It is unknown how many exploits are used to create the Jailbreak, but with so many used up to create the previous Evasi0n iOS 6 Jailbreak, I imagine the developer will be very careful not to release this too soon to prevent Apple from patching it before iOS 7 is widely available.
Even though we can’t get our hands on the iOS 7 Jailbreak right away, it does show promise that at least one exists, giving hope for the future. There was a time not so long ago when Jailbreaking was considered a dying community, but it seems it is still thriving.
We’ll keep you updated with any further information we hear regarding the iOS 7 Jailbreak, so until then just be patient, enjoy your iOS 6 Jailbreak, and rest assured that there is hope of Jailbreaking iOS 7.
Will you be Jailbreaking iOS 7 if such a tool is released? With so many previous Cydia tweaks now integrated into iOS, does Jailbreaking have the appeal it once did?
