Apple began seeding iOS 5.1 beta to developers today and embedded within the code are a number of references to future Apple products – including the iPhone 5.
Apple have used a standard product number for each iPhone, with the original iPhone dubbed “iPhone 1, 1”, the 3G “iPhone 1, 2” and so forth. The iPhone 5 is labeled with iOS 5 Beta as “iPhone 5, 1”. This product label undoubtedly represents the next-generation iPhone.
Recent rumors regarding the iPhone 5 have pointed towards a 4-inch screen, which may already be in production. It’s widely expected that the new iPhone will be powered by an A6 processor and will feature a redesigned case.
