iPhone 6: More Display, More RAM, More Storage, MOAR!

iphone-6-specs
iPhone 6 specs are a hot if slippery commodity right now. However, rumors from near and far a coalescing a configuration that’s all about more. Display size, RAM alotment and storage capacity all increase, while Apple holds line on the camera’s megapixels.

According to range of sources, including KDB Daewoo Securities, Apple will ship (pdf) a pair of larger smartphone models.

While there will be an 4.7-8 inch iPhone 6, which jibes with earlier rumor reports, it is also said Apple is also prepping a larger “phablet class” iPhone that will sport a 5.5 inch display.

While Cupertino has been confounding pundits, analysts and idiots for years, it is the received wisdom of all that Apple must deliver a phablet class iPhone in order to remain relevant in the smartphone market — don’t hold our breath one way or the other, though.

iPhone 6 Specs:

— 4.7-8 inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution
— 64-bit A8 Apple processor
— 2 GB RAM (generous for Apple)
— 8 megapixel rear facing camera
— 2.3 megapixl front facing camera
— 1800 mAh battery
— 16, 32, 64 and 128 GB storage configurations

iPhone Phablet Specs:

— 5.5 inch display with 2272 x 1280 pixel resolution
— 64-bit A8 Apple processor
— 2 GB RAM (generous for Apple)
— 8 megapixel rear facing camera
— 2.3 megapixl front facing camera
— 2300 mAh battery*
— 16, 32, 64 and 128 GB storage configurations

A lousy 8 megapixel camera sensor? Worry not. The camera in Apple’s current 5s also has an 8 megapixel and, as reported by Tapscape, earns top marks from users and experts alike.

For what it’s worth, the iPhone 5s offers 1GB RAM, A7 processor and a 4-inch display.

It is believed that Apple will deliver the iPhone 6, specs may vary, running iOS 7.2 (v7.1 is currently in beta) in the ahead of June’s Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), perhaps in the April-May timeframe.

That said, Apple is expected to preview iOS 8 for developers at this year’s WWDC. The company’s iPhone phablet class device will ship in the usual September-October timeframe running iOS 8.

Is the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 more your speed or have you been dying for an Apple phablet — MOAR enough for you? I remain skeptical that Apple will make anything that dorky…

What’s your take?
