WeHeartPics iPhone App review
Price: FREE Score: 10/10 Category: Photo & Video
Back in March, we gave a perfect 10 to an absolutely stellar photo app. I wrote that review, calling it “an app that is so simple, so useful, and so gosh darn nifty, that I’m at a loss to explain why I’ve not encountered something like it before.” That wonderful iPhone app was WeHeartPics (developed by Deep Sea Marketing), and it’s time to review it again.
Why, you might be wondering, are we reviewing an app we’re already on the record as loving for a second time? Simple. They’ve got a new update out, and we want to see whether WeaHeartPics has improved with time, or suffered a setback.
The latest update (version 1.1) came out on May 24, and it’s clear that the developers have really listened to the 400 messages/feedback they got from users. There’s a ton of new stuff, and all of it is good news. You can now register using your email address, add captions to photos, and share photos via Pinterest.
In our last review, one thing I noted was that rather than searching through a chronological timeline of photos on your phone’s camera roll or in your Facebook timeline, you can use WeHeartPics to organizes your life’s fragmented moments into coherent stories. Now, in this latest update, you can access your Facebook photos right from the iPhone app. And I gotta say, it works great.
The photo screen has been updated, and while it never felt cluttered to be before, it feels much cleaner now. Another great change? All filters are now free, and the developers took it upon themselves to remove some of the old filters that weren’t very popular.
My conclusion this time around is much the same as before. For the whopping price tag of zero dollars, there is absolutely no reason not to check out WeHeartPics. It’s slick, easy to use, and turns any collection of photos from boring old photo album filler into true eye candy. It will completely change the way you organize your snapshots. In short, they’ve made a great iPhone app even greater.
WeHeartPics is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.
