iVinyl Junkie Lite iPhone App Review

Whether you’re a hipster who thinks that vinyl is king, or an older music fan who misses the wonderful warmth of old 45’s, you’re likely to enjoy iVinyl Junkie Lite, developed by Quintessential Productions, LTD.
iVinyl Junkie is produced by live sound engineer Scott A who has worked with artists such as Depeche Mode, Oasis, the Chemical Brothers and more, with contributions from DJ Anjalogica.
This little iPhone app allows you to rock out to any song on your iTunes playlist, but with the added bonus of sounding like you’re listening to a digital track on vinyl, complete with scratches and pops.
It may be hard for some music fans to understand the impulse to take crystal clear digital audio and mask it with analog charm, but trust us: it’s pretty darn spiffy.
Unfortunately, that’s one the things we wish we could change: it would be cool to have the ability to pick which sound you want to play with each song.
That being said, we love what this iPhone app does, and we love the analog interface, too.
You can also consider upgrading to the full version of iVinyl Junkie if you want to ditch the ads. Additionally, the paid version of iVinyl Junkie has an Overdrive Function: this means you can add vinyl-ness to music played on apps like Spotify and DJay.
But unless you REALLY hate ads or REALLY love Spotify, we suggest you enjoy the free version of the app. Alternatively, you can purchase the Overdrive function as an in-app purchase from the Free version.
iVinyl Junkie Lite is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.1 or later.
