Slowly iWork turns, step by step, inch by inch. Last Fall’s iWork for Mac and iWork for iCloud updates caused waves due to the loss of features and functionality. However, Apple slowly but surely keeps adding features back and generally raising the mobile productivity app bar.
On Tuesday, Apple released an update for iWork for iCloud. Therein Keynote (presentation), Pages (word processing) and Numbers (spreadsheet) each received some new features. Further, there are also new features common to all of the apps.
This latest iWork for iCloud includes the following:
— Pages for iCloud now remembers your last used document settings including zoom level, show/hide format panel, show/hide guides, and more.
— Numbers for iCloud now remembers your last used document settings including zoom level, last selected sheet, show/hide format panel, show/hide guides, and more.
— Keynote for iCloud now remembers your last used document settings including zoom level, last selected slide, show/hide format panel, show/hide guides, and more
— [all apps] Suggests your most recent screen name when you open a shared document
— [all apps] Includes tips on how to cut, copy and paste using keyboard shortcuts when you right-click on objects
— [all apps] Includes the ability to right-click to mask images
That said, Apple has worked assiduously over the last nine months or so adding features back — cross app integration, editing tools, etc — to its iWork for iOS and iWork for Mac.
