Developed by O.o Applications, MediaSafe is a simple app that adds additional passcode protection to the most private files, photos, videos and contacts on your iPhone.
Upon opening the app for the first time you’re prompted to set a new pass code, which is done with a single constant swipe that connects the dots on-screen. Those users who are familiar with Android devices will have seen this kind of number-less password before.
Once you have set your pass code, you’re able to begin adding media to your ‘safe’. From the main screen, you can select to add Photos, Videos, Contacts or Notes. Simply tap on the type of media you want to add, give the file or folder a name and then load the media from your iPhone. You can then go and delete the photo/video/contact/note from its original location.
Unfortunately, there is no way to merge your photos/videos/contacts/notes from their native iPhone apps into MediaSafe, so you will need to manually add them to the app. It’s perfect if you want certain information to be available with an added layer of security, such as pin codes and passwords, but its a painstaking process if you want all of your existing media made private.
Bottom Line: MediaSafe is an easy-to-use app that’s perfect for the privacy-conscious.
MediaSafe is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
