A very long time coming. OS X 10.9.2 has been in beta since December with seven developer seeds delivered to date. Now it appears the public release of this Mavericks update, which includes a fix for the Mac “go to fail” SSL issue, is due any time.
Late last week, Apple delivered iOS 6.1.6 and iOS 7.0.6, which addressed the go to fail SSL certificate issue for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad owners. As we learned over the weekend, the same issue affects the Mac and Apple promised a patch would arrive quickly.

That said, AppleInsider reports that OS X 10.9.2 [13C64] has been seeded to Apple employees for final testing and familiarization with the update before it is released to the public.
In addition to a fix for the go to fail SSL certificate security issue, fixes and features in OS X 10.9.2 are expected to include:
— Make and receive FaceTime audio calls
— Ability to block incoming iMessages from individual senders
— Improved “Autofill” capabilities in Safari
— A fix for an issue that could cause audio distortion
— Improved reliability when connecting to a file server using SMB2
— A fix for an issue that could cause VPN connections to disconnect
— Improved VoiceOver navigation in Mail and Finder
— Go to fail SSL certificate patch for OS X Mavericks

For what it’s worth, the previous Mavericks update beta, OS X 10.9.2 [13C62], was seeded to developers on February 17 — only two digits separate it from today’s Apple employee test seed [13C64].
New features, bug fixes and, here in the moment, a patch for the go to fail SSL certificate security issue — Apple’s getting ready to release OS X 10.9.2, the second Mavericks update.
So, does Apple have it covered or are there other issues, bugs and/or features you’d like to see address in a future Mavericks update?
