MetaTrader 5, from developer MetaQuotes Software Corp., is the latest edition of a popular and well-rounded Forex trading platform available on both the Android and iPhone systems. MetaTrader 5 for Android features real-time index information, trade execution, and an array of statistical information vital for casual and serious traders. MetaTrader 5 allows users to follow detailed information from both Stock and Forex markets.
MetaTrader 5 brings you full control of your portfolio directly from your Android device, allowing you to execute trades and track market data in real-time. You can connect to virtually any brokerage with your pre-existing login information, or set up a demo account directly in the app. With the demo account you can learn your way around MetaTrader 5 and even play around with some fake funds before logging in with your actual brokerage account.
The interface of MetaTrader 5 is smooth and intuitive, and you will quickly find yourself calling up an intense amount of information with little trouble. Simply sliding your finger across the main screen allows you to switch between the four primary areas of the app; Quotes, Charts, Trade, and History. The four primary areas are fairly straightforward, with each title accurately describing what you will find within. The menu button in the corner will show different options depending on which section of MetaTrader 5 you are currently viewing.
Although everything about the app seems to flow well and the learning curve is incredibly smooth, you may find yourself wishing the developer had provided a few more cosmetic options for MetaTrader 5. The blue and white scheme works well, and is unobtrusive, but can become a bit boring if you find yourself looking at the app for extended periods of time.
A highlight of MetaTrader 5 is the ability to turn on push notifications, which are sent to your Android device from a desktop terminal. With push notifications there’s no need to leave the app running in the background as any new information will be pushed to your device and show up in your notification center as long as you have a data connection. Push notifications will not work unless you also use the desktop terminal.
Overall MetaTrader 5 is a well-rounded and incredibly user-friendly interface for managing your Stock or Forex accounts. The inclusion of detailed market information, history of trades, and the ability to execute new orders directly from your Android device make this app a must have for anyone looking to take more control of their investments. The free price simply pushes this app over the top.
MetaTrader 5 is available for Android 2.1 and up. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this Android app review.
