Nahidenti iPhone Game Review: A Weird Virtual Pet

[app id=”643213606″]

Nahidenti is an interesting little iPhone game developed by AJAGARA Softwarehandwerk UG haftungsbeschraenkt. Nahidenti is a virtual pet-inspired game with an interesting looking critter.

In Nahidenti, players are tasked with helping “Nahi” make a life for himself in the forest he calls home. Players can feed, dress, and wash Nahi. Players can also fight enemies to earn coins, which players then use to upgrade Nahi’s home with better furniture and food.

It’s hard to tell what Nahi is meant to be: he’s blue, and sort of furry-looking. He makes cute, child-like sounds that can only be described as “cooing,” especially when you tap him. However, his giant mouth and penetrating stare might scare some children, albeit unintentionally.

He’s a weird-looking little critter, that’s for sure. He’s a bit cute, but also a little scary looking. Watching him take a shower is a little odd, but it’s hard to explain why until you’ve done it yourself.

One issue I had with this game were the controls. Moving around is simply a matter of touching or dragging where you want Nahi to move. However, while movement is easy, getting perfectly lined up to use some of the facilities seems to be a bit of a persnickety thing.

Featuring an energetic soundtrack and charmingly ambiguous main character, Nahidenti is fun for virtual pet fans, but will likely annoy anyone who hates these kind of sims. Still, if you were one of those kids who embraced the Tamagotchi or Giga Pets fad, there’s something interesting about this app. That being said, some users might prefer a dog or a cat to, well, whatever Nahi is supposed to be.

Nahidenti is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
