Is color really a selling point for the Lumia 920? Nokia seems to think so.
Nokia Germany has just released a new ad for the Nokia Lumia 920 that pokes fun at the iPhone 5’s lack of color. The video is wonderfully animated and starts out by showing a cityscape before panning down to the masses lined up for what is hinted to be the iPhone 5. We see people walking to the counter, giving their money and getting their new phone until one customer does the unthinkable and asks if the phone comes in yellow. Suddenly, alarms go off and the Apple fans freak out at the thought of a colored iPhone and… Well, I think it would be better if you watched it yourself. You can access the video here.
It’s a brilliant piece of marketing from Nokia and I personally think is better executed than that blunt ad “It doesn’t take a genius” ad from Samsung that lists down the Galaxy S III’s features side by side with the iPhone 5. And while color isn’t really a groundbreaking feature, it does a good job of highlighting something the Nokia Lumia 920 has that the competitors don’t. Good job, Nokia!
