Nokia Lumia 925 goes exclusive with T-Mobile in June

Nokia has just officially introduced the Nokia Lumia 925, its second Windows Phone 8 device. The other one being the Nokia Lumia 928 which we told you about just recently. Two major features make the Lumia 925 stand out. These are its metal design and PureView camera innovation. But are these enough to convince Windows Phone 8 fans to get the Lumia 925?  Let’s take a look at what these smartphone has to offer then.

Nokia Lumia 925 features

Previously known as the Catwalk, the Nokia Lumia 925 boasts the new Nokia Smart Camera mode which is actually updated from previous Lumia Windows Phone 8 handsets. With Smart Camera mode, you’ll have an easier way of capturing 10 images at once. You can then edit these pictures later using Best Shot, Action Shot, and Motion Focus to create high quality image.

Under the hood, the Nokia Lumia 925 is packed with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 8.7MP PureView camera with optical image stabilization, 1.2MP front-facing wide angle camera, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage, 2000 mAh battery and wireless charging.

The phone has a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA (1280×768) Gorilla 2 Glass screen display. According to Nokia this features super sensitive touch that responds even if you are wearing gloves or using your nail on the screen.

The Lumia 925 is loaded with Hipstamatic’s new social networking app called Oggl. This app lets you take and share high quality pictures with like-minded creatives and photography enthusiasts.

Of course, other social networking apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and others can also be installed on the device. There’s also the HERE suite of location and navigation services common to most Lumia smartphones as well as Nokia Music for unlimited streaming of free music playlists.

Jo Harlow, executive vice president of Nokia Smart Devices has this to say about the Lumia 925:

 “We’re advancing experiences on the Nokia Lumia portfolio whether that means great new benefits for an existing Lumia owner, or bringing new showcase devices like the Nokia Lumia 925.”

For those looking to buy a new Windows Phone 8 device, the Lumia 925 seems like a good choice. It will be released in Europe through Vodafone in June. In the U.S., T-Mobile grabs the exclusive rights to offer the device. How much will the Lumia 925 be selling in the market? Expect to spend around $610 for this handset.
