OnPage iPhone App Review: Virtual 2-Way Pager Application

[app id=”427935899″]

OnPage is an iPhone app developed by Onset Technology Inc. The great age of pagers and beepers may have come to an end, but this extremely excellent app is a must-try tool for anyone who still needs a beeper for work.

This app is a virtual two-way pager application and priority messaging service for iOS devices. It takes just about a minute to set up, which is awesome for people in tense, high-pressure jobs who need to get stuff done fast.

What is arguably the best aspect of this killer app is the fact that OnPage is HIPAA compliant. This app is also encrypted, which gives users great peace of mind. Plus, you can forward your OnPage messages to another OnPage user, which makes communication even more seamless.

Another awesome feature: message confirmation. Now you will always know when your messages have been received. There’s also a dedicated inbox/outbox, ensuring that other messages won’t crowd out your inbox.

Now, say that you actually like your beeper. That’s all well and good, but there’s still a very compelling reason to use OnPage: the supported message length. With OnPage, you can send messages of up to 1024 words (rich media). Compared to the paltry 140 or 160 characters you can do in an SMS message, OnPage is a great step up.

If you are juggling multiple pagers for work (doctors and traders, I’m looking at you!), OnPage is a great way to consolidate all of those pagers into one device (your iPhone).

The OnPage app is free to download and use for 14 days. After that, you must pay a quarterly/yearly subscription fee. Still, the fee is a small price to pay for peace of mind.

OnPage is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
