Photos have emerged from Repair Labs that appear to show the front glass panel and digitizer assembly for the iPad 3, with two units showing both the white and black versions of the new casing.
Essentially identical to the iPad 2 except for the ribbon cable which will attach to the iPad 3’s high-resolution retina display, these photos confirm that the iPad 3 will not feature any major departures from the current design.
Previous leaked images demonstrated that the iPad 3’s rear casing featured a slightly more gradual edge, and was marginally thicker than the iPad 2 by a matter of less than 1mm in order to accommodate beefed-up internal components.
The iPad 3 is due to be unveiled at a March 7 media event in San Francisco at 10 AM PST.
