Refurbished Apple Watches– Comparison Between the Apple Watch Series 3 and Series 4

Refurbished Apple Watches– Comparison Between the Apple Watch Series 3 and Series 4

The Apple Watch exemplifies the saying, “I came, I saw, I Conquered.” Despite being a late entry into the smartwatch space, Apple watches have gone on to become the standard for quality, performance, and design. Apple watches have consistently been at the top of the best smartwatch rankings, and sometimes even older models come out above the competition.  They have an instantly recognizable look, but it’s not all looks with them; they are feature-laden, and each year Apple comes out with a new version. Most of the older Apple Watches are available as refurbished devices which means that you can get value for money if you purchased them. Two of the most popular releases are the Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple Watch Series 4. In this article, we will compare refurbished Apple watches from Phonebot in Australia to help you decide which one to purchase.

Apple Watch Series 3 Vs. Apple Watch Series 4: The Design

We know what to expect from an Apple watch’s design.  A rounded square face, digital crown, and plenty of color options.  The Apple Watch Series 3 comes with an OLED Retina display with an impressive brightness of 1,000 nits and Force Touch.  It is available in two finishes, Space Grey and Aluminium, and two case sizes, 38mm and 42mm, but either size is 11.4mm thick.  The display size for the 42mm case is 740mm2 compared to 563mm2 on the 38mm version. The Apple Watch Series 4 is a slimmed-down version coming only with a thickness of 10.7mm and case sizes going up to 40mm and 44mm.  Of course, this increases their display sizes to 759mm² and 977mm².  The Apple Watch Series 4 has an LTPO display with a similar 1,000 nits brightness as the series three, but the choice of the panel means that there is an improvement in battery life.

Apple Watch Series 3 Vs. Apple Watch Series 4: The Hardware

Most of the differences between the Apple Watch Series 3 and Series 4 come from the updated internals.  The S4 chip in the Series 4 is a 64-bit dual-core monster that made it twice as fast as the Series 3. Both of them have wireless capabilities, but the Series 4 has an updated antenna. Both the Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple Watch Series 4 came with two versions, GPS only and LTE versions which both allow you to make calls through the watch. Bluetooth was also updated from Bluetooth 4.2 in the Apple Watch Series 3 to Bluetooth 5.0 in the Apple Watch Series 4—Bluetooth 5.0 connects faster and has fewer demands on power. While both watches have the digital crown, the crown on the Apple Watch Series 4 was upgraded to include haptic feedback for when you press or scroll through. The Lithium-ion battery in both is good for 18 hours of standby time. While this is a huge bump in performance for the Apple Watch Series 4, the Apple Watch Series is a worthy competitor, and you won’t be disappointed with it.

Apple Watch Series 3 Vs. Apple Watch Series 4: The Features

There aren’t that many differences between the Series 3 and Series 4 Apple Watches. In most aspects, they are similar, but the Apple Watch Series 4 differentiates itself with the fitness features onboard.  The GPS, Barometric Altimeter, and 50M water-resistance are standard on both models.  For fitness, the Apple Watch Series 4 introduces the Electrical Heart Rate Sensor on the digital crown.  The optical heart sensor on the Apple Watch Series 3 was also updated with better hardware in the Series 4. This was also done to the gyroscope and accelerometer, which meant that the Apple Watch Series 4 had the added fall detection feature.  Reflecting on this, it is clear that if you are into fitness or want to track your progress in activities, your option between the two is sticking with the Apple Watch Series 4.

Apple Watch Series 3 Vs. Apple Watch Series 4: Battery Life

Both Watches can last up to 18 hours on a single charge. While these are not class beating figures, considering the features and the immense power of the processors will convince you otherwise. That said, if you forgot your phone at home and had to make your calls through the Apple Watch Series 3 or Series 4, you have an ample 8 hours battery life to get you back to where the phone is.

The Apple Watch Series 3 Vs. Apple Watch Series 4 head-to-head raises some important aspects about both devices. They are both insanely powerful, but the upgrades to the Series 4 make it better for fitness tracking. Otherwise, they both have 18 hours battery life, bright displays, good sizes, and an all-around high-quality build. Depending on what you intend on doing, both of them will perform exceptionally well. As refurbished devices, you will get all these performances at affordable prices.
