Tapscape has reported again and again on the rumored 2014 iPad Air. However, the grapevine has been largely silent on 2014 iPad mini 2. That said, the lack of info indicated that Apple’s smaller Retina tablet wouldn’t be release until early 2015, alongside the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Apparently, those rumors were wrong. Tim Cook et al plan to release, according to Japanese fan site Macotakara, an updated Retina iPad mini at their next Apple Event on Thursday, which will be streamed live.
iPad Air (2nd generation) and iPad mini Retina (2nd generation) is presented at the Special Events of the month
As the story of information sources that can be trusted, in special events of Apple that is Apple, held this week, in addition iPad Air to modify the design of the side buttons, it was equipped with a Touch ID to (2nd generation), and iPad mini, which was equipped with a Touch ID also likely to be announced at the same time also Retina (2nd generation) seems high.
IPad mini Retina The (2nd generation), the theory that 2015 second quarter release had been promising with 12.9-inch model iPad, but so far, seems to be two simultaneous product updates as well last year.
The color lineup of Smart Cover, color line-up and design of the Smart Case also seems to have been slightly changed.
That said, the 2014 iPad Air is expected to ship with an A8X processor, 2GB RAM, Touch ID finger print reader and an updated enclosure that’s thinner, featuring recessed volume buttons.
For what it’s worth, the 2014 iPad mini refresh will look very similar — A8 chip, Touch ID and updated enclosure with aforementioned recessed volume paddles. Also, the 2014 iPad Air is expected to come in three colors — Silver, Space Gray and Gold — so the Retina mini 2 in said same hues won’t be surprising.
About those Smart Cover and Smart Case updates? Um, wow, “better” colors? Meh…
