Review of The Motorola Moto G7: Is It Any Good?

Motorola has come with its new G series model- G7 recently. Moto has been coming with mid-range price pointed device for a long time now. And, Moto G7 is no exception. This new model is a successor of Moto G6 which was a solid and premium looking device. The last device was solid and smooth and that’s why Moto hasn’t brought much of the major changes in this device. But, little improvements in the last phone has made this new one. Though the company has launched three more devices alongside G7 which are Moto G7 Play, Moto G7 Power and Moto G7 Plus, this device is unique from others. Every model has its USP like Moto G7 Play is the cheapest and the Moto G7 Power gets the huge capacity 5,000mAh battery life which is available to buy online with amazing Snapdeal Offers today.

The Moto G7 is clearly an upgrade to the Moto G6 and really stand out in the market. So, but is the best in the mid-range market? Let’s check out in the Moto G7 review below:

Design and Display

Moto G smartphone series is known for its premium looking solid design. The device packs glass panel both at the front and the back with metal edges. On the rear panel, you get a dual rear camera setup and a fingerprint reader below it.  On the right side, you get a volume rocker and power button which are clicky and tactile. On the bottom, there is a speaker grille, USB-C Port and a space for a 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, the device is splash repellant but not water resistant.

Coming to the display, the Moto G7 packs a 6.20-inch touchscreen Full HD+ display with a pixel resolution of 1080 pixels by 2270 pixels. Though the ppi density is less than the Moto G6 one, still the display looks really good. The colors come out bright and catchy to eyes. The aspect ratio is 19:9 which make it look taller and the 81% screen-to-body ratio depicts how thin the bezels are. Overall, Motorola comes with a solid and smooth design and nice display with its new offering, Moto G7.

Performance

Under the hood, Moto G7 houses a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. The device runs smoothly without lags or hiccups when it comes to daily tasks. Though it is not a gaming phone, it lacks even in medium graphics in the PUBG Mobile game so you must switch it to the low graphics render. Overall, you might not a powerpack bundled performance but the basic things get right in this device.

Camera and Battery Life

Coming to the camera, the device has a dual rear camera setup including a 12-megapixel with the lens of the f/1.8 primary camera and a 5-megapixel with aperture f/2.2 secondary camera. For selfies, you get an 8-megapixel front shooter. The cameras give impressive performance whether it is in daylighting or at night.

Moto G7 houses a moderate capacity 3000mAh battery which will give you 18-20 hours of battery life when it comes to a typical day at work. Moto G7 brings fast charging feature too which will take the device from 0 to 80 in an hour of charge.

Other Features

Moto G7 runs Android 9 Pie out of the box and the company sprinkles little of its interface in the device which will not change much of your stock Android experience. The device comes with many gesture controls called Moto Actions which will enable some features using the gestures. The connectivity and sensors include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, FM, 3G, and 4G, Face unlock, Fingerprint sensor, Compass/ Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, and Gyroscope. You can also some of latest gadgets online by applying AliExpress Offers today.

Moto G7 comes in two color variants: Ceramic Black, Ceramic White.

Verdict

Moto G7 is no different from other Moto G series devices- it looks good, in-built quality is great, performs well enough and is premium looking.  So, if you are looking for a device which does good in all platforms but not excel in any of them, Moto G7 is the choice. Though Moto G7 Plus is a better version of it, still if you want to save the cost Moto G7 is the device for you.
