If you were disappointed to hear that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini was designed for the European market and thus, may not see official release in the US, then you may be glad to know that US Cellular may just change all that.
“Specs wise, we’re looking at 4 inch WVGA LCD display, a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 processor, 1GB of RAM with 4GB of internal storage, LTE, a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front facing camera. We’re also told that the Galaxy Axiom runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but looking at the press shot we’re also seeing Samsung’s latest Nature UX on there.”
If the Samsung Galaxy Axiom is indeed a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, it seems weird that US Cellular would decide to ditch the Galaxy S3 tag and go with an unfamiliar name. The Galaxy S3 has been one of Samsung’s top sellers and has already outsold its rival, the iPhone 4S, so you’d think it would be easier for them to market the device by keeping an already recognizable brand. Nevertheless, the Axiom seems like a solid addition to their line-up and a good alternative for subscribers looking for a smaller device.
No word yet on pricing or availability but we’ll be sure to keep our ear on the ground for more updates. Be sure to check back regularly here on Tapscape!
