As the worldwide legal battle between Samsung and Apple continues to escalate, Samsung has now moved to ban the sale of the iPhone 4S in both Australia and Japan.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that both the Tokyo District Court and New South Wales Registry have received preliminary injunctions from Samsung to halt sales of the new iPhone. The Japanese courts have also received a request to stop the sale of both the iPad 2 and iPhone 4.
James Chung, a spokesman at Samsung Electronics stated that “we are now counter-attacking Apple again“.
Apple Korea spokesman Steve Park reiterated the company’s commitment to defending their intellectual property. “This kind of blatant copying is wrong, and we need to protect Apple’s intellectual property when companies steal our ideas,” he said.
