Samsung has finally taken the wraps off the highly anticipated and widely rumored Galaxy S6 smartphone!
In the Samsung Unpacked 2015 event held in Barcelona, Spain, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is one of the two new devices the tech giant revealed today. The other smartphone is the Galaxy S6 Edge.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 arrives with a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 2560 x 1440. It comes with the powerful Samsung 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor under the hood. It claims to have a better 16-megapixel rear camera compared to the iPhone 6. It also has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It gets power from a 2,550mAh non-removable battery that can be charged wirelessly.
Aside from its beefed up hardware, Samsung has tweaked the design and construction of the device to make it even more premium. The company has left the use of plastic on the body of this device and went with the use of metal and glass. The drawback is that the device now misses a removable rear cover. Furthermore, Samsung removed the microSD card slot and also took away its previous water-resistant property for this improved design and construction.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 will be rolled out starting with 20 countries on April 10. Other markets will follow immediately. Price is not yet available for the said device.
