Tales of Pirates is an iPhone game developed by Little Beetle/Arsidian LLC. Despite the fact that the app is predominantly devoted to education, its robust array of cute mini-games make it a winner for younger gamers.
This charming pirate game features an adorable cast of bright and extraordinary characters and 13 unique mini-games. Kids who play this game are taught about how to become a pirate, in a story that encourages curiosity and instilling logic and intellectual training. Tales of Pirates is aimed at kids who are in preschool or thereabouts.
Despite some Russian roots, this game has a very Japanese feel to it. The whole graphics package basically screams “Kawaii” and “Genki!” The character designs will go a long way towards drawing kids in to the world of this educational game.
There are 13 different games, some of which take place on the land and some of which take place while at sea. Tales of Pirates has been created with participation of specialists in early education, so it’s the rare mobile game that you can feel good about sharing with your kids.
The one downside to this whimsical adventure tale is the staggering game size. It’s certainly not the largest download I’ve seen, but 90.9 MB is a good chunk of the storage space on smaller iOS devices. If you can spare the space, however, this is a good investment…especially given the relatively low price point for such a beautifully designed game.
