Tim Cook and Larry Page Talking Patent Issues

To date, Apple has inflicted flaming intellectual property doom upon Samsung, but has surprisingly spared chief thief Google — Tim Cook, Larry Page — Cage Match, Fight!

Steve Jobs promised thermonuclear war on Android for stealing patented iPhone and iOS technology. To date, Apple has inflicted flaming intellectual property doom upon Samsung, but has surprisingly spared chief thief Google. Whatever the Cupertino, California company’s original intentions vis-a-vis patent litigation and searchzilla were, the two companies’ CEOs — Tim Cook and Larry Page — are now said to be talking.

Apple won won the largest patent verdict in history against Samsung, which lead to much user and investor angst — Sammy’s stock has tumbled while Microsoft crowed that “Windows Phone is looking gooooood right now.”

Whether Tim Cook called to demand Google surrender or Larry Page inquired what mercy might cost, the two tech titans are now said to be talking.

Tim Cook and Larry Page — Cage Match!

And, fight (or not)! Reuters reports behind the scenes patent talks between Apple and Google. And, given that Apple is suing or being sued by Samsung, Motorola and a host of other Android smartphone and tablet makers, they have much to discuss.

“The two chief executives had a phone conversation last week,” says Reuters’ unnamed sources. “Discussions involving lower-level officials of the two companies are also ongoing.”

Patent peace in our time or is Larry Page letting Apple (metaphorically) march into Austria and the Sudetenland?

Hmm, Apple über alles? Only time will tell…
