The iPhone 5C pre-orders went live this morning ready for everyone to spend their hard earned cash on, but unlike previous years there doesn’t seem to be any sign of a shortage of availability.
In previous years, unless you were on the ball and got your iPhone order in before 2 minutes passed, stock became limited and chances are you wouldn’t receive your device on launch day. However, the iPhone 5C has been live for a good while now and it is still showing as currently available to pre-order in each of the colours it will launch in, on all carriers.
iPhone 5C – Lots of Stock
This could of course mean two things:
First – that the reason we saw so many iPhone 5C leaks was that Apple doubled down on the product line, churning out parts as fast as they could, in order to avoid a repeat of last year with the iPhone 5. As such, they have plenty of stock and can handle all the pre-orders coming in quite easily, and then some.
Second – however, it could also mean that the iPhone 5C isn’t really that popular, and there haven’t been too many orders to fulfill and hence there is an abundance of stock available. Maybe people are just more interested in the iPhone 5S and are waiting to September 20th to order that?
The iPhone 5C features the same specs as Apple’s current iPhone 5 (maybe therein lies the problem?) but packed into a new brightly coloured plastic case. The device runs $100 less than the iPhone 5S, and starts at only $99 on contract.
Are people just happy with their current iPhone 5’s? Or are people holding out for the iPhone 5S model, which is still currently unavailable for pre-order? Drop us a comment in the section below and let us know which one it is you think is the reason for the high stock count.
